New concept for the coming week
As someone who hasn't contributed but once to this beautiful endeavor, I don't feel worthy to post the next concept. But since Kaitlyn asked, I suggest for tomorrow and the handful of days after:

contradiction
17 years and 7 months in her womb
comes to the clinic for options
my baby kicking in my belly
i give her information
silent prayers
she leaves and I return
to picking out names
for my child

Contradiction: Thoreau
Thoreau once wrote that "If one advances confidently in the direction of his dream, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours."
I came across this in the process of advancing confidently in the direction of getting paid for work -- an advance unblocked lately -- while my dream looks on, wondering when it's his turn to get up early and type.
My life these days is mostly comfortable, and the sun is rising.
In my teens, I had a rat I named Thoreau.
My dad loved that little bugger with an ease that eluded him for everything else.

submission #1
Make love to me
naughty
ever changing spicy love
Eat with me and of me
swallow my soul at every turn
sweep me away in beautiful deep pools
called your eyes
hands the shape and size that fit me
relax me into a blue corduory pocket of love
I sleep peacefully your hands
fitting my thighs perfectly
tears are now in my eyes
ever the questions of my truth
integrity and direction
separate my withered impaired past
questions answered to many times to count
manipulative spirits always crushing creations
you were different
understanding the depth of a free simple spirit
needing only sun and air to grow
gving me the sky to wear and hope for more
gifts given to you to use only for me
you leave silently on my doorstep
pain of your love and love of your pain
inextricably woven together

The Art Experiment
What happens when you are an artist who hasn't been creating art? What happens when you have artist friends with the same problem who live far away from you?
The internet happens.
This is a website created to see if people can come together and create art with a common theme on a weekly basis.
There is only one rule:
Use the word of the week as a jumping off point for your creation.
Interpret it
Defy it
Define it
Display it
Turn it inside out
or upside down
Look at it
Think about it
Create something interesting and post it here
The games begin Sunday March 21st when the first word will be posted here. Submissions can be posted anytime within the week. A new word will be posted every Sunday.
Everyone can play.
Come play.
